Anne's Garden - A Survivor's Healing Place
Anne initially created this beautifully serene website  to post her poetry and writings and have others read them.  Then she felt she needed to offer more and added
sections about the most common issues facing survivors.  She also has a section called  Survivor Voices where she encourages others to tell their stories for she feels that it is an important part of healing.  This site is exceptionally well done.

Haunting Hands
This website tells of my own story of surviving incest and rape - painted on the abstract canvas of poetry and photography.   It is intense and raw in places so survivors and sensitive viewers are strongly cautioned.  Some of the material may be triggering and/or disturbing.

Dancing in the Darkness

Scarlet, a survivor of rape herself, offers her website as a resource for survivors of sexual abuse, their loved ones and friends.  She  encourages survivors to speak out, share their stories and support one another. The web design is enchanting and breathtakingly beautiful. Her resources are extensive and comprehensive. This is one of the best survivors site I have come by thus far. Highly recommended!

Inscriptions of Hope

Keren Valentin is the founder of this small publication, a survivor of  childhood abuse herself, she started Inscriptions of Hope to give all survivors of abuse the chance to speak out, be heard, to give them a voice.  Keren's website includes; an Art Gallery, Poetry, Online Newsletter, Information about child abuse and related disorders.  Keren has created an artistic, informative and very supportive online community.

Butterflies
Butterflies is a beautifully designed e-zine for survivors, where they are encouraged to share their stories and submit their poetry.  Also has  related webrings and excellent links to resources for survivors as well as a virtual library of related books.

_
Kim's Safe Place
VERY well designed website-it is easy to navigate and visually beautiful and serene. I highly reccomend this site as it is
an excellent starting point for survivors.  Kim tells of her own childhood struggles with sexual abuse and how she has become an empowered survivor.  She also has chat, message board, webring and even a gallery and virtual bookstore.
As well as a section for survivors to share their thoughts and poetry. She also has links to other great survivor resources.

The Courage to Heal
by Ellen Bass and Laura Davis.
_
The classic and definitive self-help guide for women survivors of sexual abuse, The Courage To Heal is a tool for recovery that
works. This is also the book often cited by those who challenge the credibility of incest survivors. Some survivors of childhood
abuse recover memories of these traumatic early experiences years after the original events, and it is these recovered memories
that are said to be false memories, implanted in the allegedly impressionable minds of survivors. I was curious to see how this
revised and expanded third edition would differ from the much maligned first.

Telling : A Memoir of Rape and Recovery
by Patricia Weaver Francisco.
_
Francisco was a happily married 20-something writer and assistant editor when a rapist entered her apartment while her husband
was away and brutally raped her. The act itself only took moments (although he spent several hours mentally torturing her), but her
recovery took years. Novelist Francisco chronicles that recovery here in a book that is personal and yet universal enough to offer
hope to others who have faced similar trauma.

A Voice That Has Spoken From Within - A Survivor's Feelings Expressed Through Poetry  ( link to book reviews.)
by Marie Waldrep

Janet Marie Waldrep began writing from her heart at the early age of 11. As a victim of incest and childhood sexual assault, she found writing poems helped to ease the pain and facilitate her healing and recovery process. As such, she felt compelled to compile this collection of her own poems. Marie was awarded the Editor’s Choice Award in January 2004 for outstanding achievement in poetry by poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry for her poem “Still I Cry.” She has created a web site called The Mighty Phoenix with information to help promote awareness and healing of all sexual abuse.

Ordering information can be obtained directly through the publishers  website.

Male on Male Rape : The Hidden Toll of Stigma and Shame
by Michael Scarce
_
The rape crisis movement is more than twenty-five years old, yet there are few resources available to support the survivor of male on
male rape in his recovery and few materials to guide those with the responsibility for providing him with services. Written from the
perspective of a rape survivor and advocate in the movement to end sexual assault, Michael Scarce's Male on Male Rape: The Hidden
Toll of Stigma and Shame is long overdue. . . . Michael Scarce takes us on an uncharted and unfamiliar road, with much respect and
commitment to the journey. Scarce is at his best as the rape crisis counselor, helping us understand our feelings and navigating
resources. The book shines its brightest as a guide for rape survivors and helping professionals.
